JGiorgia Gaia is a self-employed researcher who graduated from the University of Amsterdam with degrees in theology (Western esotericism) and cultural anthropology.

She has worked as a DJ and event coordinator in the underground rave scene since she was in her early twenties.

Her scholarly pursuits have centered on psychonautic ethnographies, esoteric groups, rave scenes, and ecology.

She spent several years participating in observational research in various cultural scenes in Europe, including the psychedelic trance movement and the esoteric intentional community of Damanhur.
